Saturday, August 12
12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
We are pleased to announce the grand opening of Rutland’s makerspace! Our makerspace, officially known as The MINT– Rutland’s Makerspace, is a shared workshop and classroom for anyone interested in making things. Beyond being a workshop with all the tools you don’t have space for or couldn’t afford on your own, The MINT is a community of people sharing their knowledge, experience, and ideas in addition to tools, equipment, and workshop space. Our members include hobbyists, DIY enthusiasts, educators, students, entrepreneurs, non-profit, and for-profit companies. This event is a chance for the community to tour the makerspace and learn about membership.
But wait, there’s more!
The MINT will also host the Rutland Mini Maker Faire, an annual festival where the community can make, create, learn, invent, craft, hack, recycle, build, think, play, and be inspired by science, technology, engineering, arts, food, music, and crafts. We are seeking sponsors to help grow this DIY extravaganza in our community. The greater Rutland region’s greatest minds will show off unique inventions. Community members of all ages are welcome to participate in this afternoon of exciting exhibitions, demonstrations, and hands-on activities while enjoying demonstrations, speakers, food creations, music, and visual and performing arts.
