The HUBZone Program assists small businesses in gaining preferential access to federal contracts due to limited development in rural communities. Due to the 2011 closures of Courcelle Brothers USARC – Rutland and USARC – Chester; Addison, Bennington, Orange, Rutland, Windsor, & Windham Counties have been designated as HUBZone along with already existing HUBZone counties of Orleans and Essex. The Vermont Procurement Technical Assistance Center and U.S. Small Business Administration will be holding Understanding the HUBZone Program workshops in the newly affected counties to communicate the necessary information that is required to qualify for the HUBZone Program as well as a guide through certification process utilizing necessary documents.
