Vermont’s largest electric utility, is working to ensure that Rutland will have more solar energy generation per capita than any other city in the New England area, and to make Rutland the Energy City of the Future. GMP puts their creative and technical skills to work by investing in solar technology, siting, and development, as well as piloting innovative new programs designed to manage energy holistically. The solar projects add clean, renewable energy to the local power grid and will distinguish Rutland County as the leading solar-generation center in New England. The innovation pilots are designed to create new customer choices, from heat pumps for hot water and space heating to super-efficient homes, centralized controls, and on-bill financing of energy projects.
