Fresh Tracks Capital is coming to town on August 4th with the 2nd Annual Road Pitch Tour. Following on last year’s success, Cairn Cross of Fresh Tracks Capital has organized a group of Angel Investors to tour Vermont on Motorcycles. Along the way they will stop at scheduled events to hear 3-5 business investment pitches before returning to the open road. The Rutland stop will include a pitch session at the Energy Innovation Center, followed by the Downtown Rutland partnership’s First Annual “Hops on Top” craft beer festival to be held on the top level of the Transit Center in downtown Rutland.

Vermont Small Business Development Center
ADVISING AND TRAINGING
Housed at REDC, the Vermont Small Business Development Center provides free technical assistance to staring and growing small business. Operated through the Vermont State College System, VtSBDC links businesses with higher education, state and federal programs, as well as other businesses. The VtSBDC offers in-depth counseling assistance at no cost to ensure more successful start-ups of new enterprises and to strengthen existing firms. With access to a comprehensive resource and information library, the VtSBDC can provide business planning assistance, marketing help, referrals and much more. In addition, VtSBDC periodically sponsors low-cost business training seminars on a variety of topics. College of St. Joseph
College of St. Joseph was recently notified by The New England Association of Schools and Colleges, the regional accrediting association, that it has accepted the College’s substantive change approval request to proceed with the development of the Master of Medical Science Physician Assistant Studies program. The Physician Assistant Program is working to receive provisional accreditation from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) in March 2016.
CSJ has also added Vermont’s only Sonography program, beginning in the fall 2016 semester. The program recently received accreditation from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Both programs will be housed in the former Omya buildings in Proctor. The facility will include classrooms, labs, student lounge, faculty lounge, conference rooms, food service, exercise / yoga room, and more.
