SBDC
SBDC (Small
Business Development Center)
Housed at REDC, the Small Business Development
Center provides free technical assistance to starting and growing
small businesses. Operated through the Vermont State College
System, SBDC links businesses with higher education, state and
federal programs, as well as other businesses.
The SBDC offers in-depth counseling assistance
at no cost to ensure more successful start-ups of new enterprises
and to strengthen existing firms. With access to a comprehensive
resource and information library, the SBDC can provide business
planning assistance, marketing help, referrals and much more.
In addition, SBDC periodically sponsors low cost business training

VEDA
VEDA Vermont Economic
Development Authority
The Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA)
is a state-wide organization that provides low-interest loans,
mortgage insurance, revenue bonds, and a loss reserve fund to
encourage small business loans by participating banks. VEDA
can make direct loans to manufacturing firms and other eligible
loans under state statute for the acquisition of land, building
and improvements, machinery and equipment, and working capital.

VT EPSCoR
VT EPSCoR (Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive
Research)
Experimental Programs to Stimulate Competitive
Research (EPSCoR) matches federal and instate funding sources
to provide for state-based initiatives to build science and
technology infrastructure. The four partners are higher education,
state government, federal agencies, and the business community.
Vermont is one of 19 states eligible for EPSCoR funds.
