New Building for Central Vermont Eye Care!
Central Vermont Eye Care has relocated their offices to 69 Allen St, Rutland, VT. The New building is located in the existing medical office park. They are attempting to get LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification by keeping the construction and maintenance as “green” and environmentally friendly as possible.
Although Central Vermont Eye Care was incorporated in July of 2006 with the arrival of Praveen H. Keshava, M.D., the origin of the practice began over 30 years ago when Gordon R. Kelly, M.D. opened a solo ophthalmology practice on April 1971. In 1976, the office was moved to 254 Stratton Road across from the hospital, and Alexander T. Herzen, M.D. joined with him to form Ophthalmologists, Inc.
Dr. Kelly and Dr. Herzen practiced ophthalmology together for almost 30 years. They developed a close relationship with their patients and with the local community. During this time, they cared for thousands of patients and performed thousands of surgical procedures, improving the quality of life for numerous local residents.
In 2008, Dr. Keshava hired an optometrist, Christina Huth Tu, O.D., to increase patient access to eye care in Rutland. They, along with the rest of the Central Vermont Eye Care staff, intend to continue this close relationship with the people of Rutland and their surrounding neighbors fostered under Drs. Herzen and Kelly. CVEC is committed to utilizing the latest proven technologies to ensure their patients receive an unsurpassed level of care. Their new office will help them reach these goals by allowing more space for new equipment, by improving patient accessibility and convenience by increasing the number of exam lanes and adding an independently-owned optical, and by making as small a carbon footprint as possible in the area.
